U.S. official defends surveillance on eve of EU data ruling

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence does not conduct mass, indiscriminate harvesting of foreigners' private data, a senior U.S. official has said on the eve of a landmark EU court ruling that will affect thousands of companies including the likes of Facebook.
